We’re excited to present you with the latest work of NMEA members from all around the country in Volume 40, Issue 3 of Current. In this issue, you’ll access lesson plans that use play as a teaching tool through fish printing, simulate on-board research in the Arctic, and send us on a open-ocean mystery to investigate a “murder” during the daily zooplankton migration! You’ll read about marine science outreach programs located in the Midwest and learn about vessel-based education programs. We invite you to explore a new study assessing the impact that early exposure to ocean science has on future college major and career choice. Finally, a word from Craig Strang on the Ocean Literacy discussions being had in Belgium at the European Marine Science Educators Association’s 12th annual conference.

We ask that you please continue to send in your original manuscripts on research, lessons, resources, or strategies focused on marine education, including science, art, literature, and maritime history.
