NMEA 2026
Meeting of the Waters
July 12-16, 2026
Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina, Cambridge, MD
MAMEA (Mid-Atlantic Marine Education Association) invites all who teach about water to the 2026 National Marine Educators Association Conference. Join NMEA for the “Meeting of the Waters” in Cambridge, Maryland, where the Choptank River meets the Chesapeake Bay.
Explore the rich natural and cultural history of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, as we address the challenges and successes in bringing the world of water to life.
Plenary speakers will highlight freshwater, brackish, and saltwater environments, all tied together by the theme of coming together.
Discover the region’s heritage, including the traditional ecological knowledge of the Nause-Waiwash people and the inspiring story of Harriet Tubman, who used her deep knowledge of the local marshes to lead others to freedom.
Enjoy an evening at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, where history comes alive.
All events take place at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort, offering a full range of family-friendly amenities—from pools and a spa to hiking trails and kids’ camp. Pets are welcome too!
Celebrate 50 years of NMEA conferences with us!
