July 11-15, 2027

Hilton Hawaiian Village • Waikīkī, HI

Oceania invites all who teach about water to the 2027 National Marine Educators Association Conference. Join NMEA and “Nānā I Ke Kumu: Look To The Source” along the famed Waikīkī shoreline to explore Hawai‘iʻs unique biodiversity and rich cultural legacy.

Conference highlights include:

  • Plenary speakers who will celebrate and center place and how the ocean connects us, emphasizing Hawai‘i’s location in the center of the Pacific ocean basin.

  • An evening at the Waikīki Aquarium, the second-oldest public aquarium in the United States—located right on the coast.

  • Field trips showcasing marine science and cultural locations, including excursions to the Hawai‘i Institute of Marine Biology (HIMB), a lo‘i (taro patch), and a loko i‘a (Hawaiian fishpond).

NMEA 2027 is based at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikīkī Beach Resort, a beachfront property offering a full range of family-friendly amenities including multiple pools, a saltwater lagoon, ocean activities and water sports, live entertainment, a spa, and shopping.
