Oceania invites all who teach about water to the 2027 National Marine Educators Association Conference. Join NMEA and “Nānā I Ke Kumu: Look To The Source” along the famed Waikīkī shoreline to explore Hawai‘iʻs unique biodiversity and rich cultural legacy.
Conference highlights include:
Plenary speakers who will celebrate and center place and how the ocean connects us, emphasizing Hawai‘i’s location in the center of the Pacific ocean basin.
An evening at the Waikīki Aquarium, the second-oldest public aquarium in the United States—located right on the coast.
Field trips showcasing marine science and cultural locations, including excursions to the Hawai‘i Institute of Marine Biology (HIMB), a lo‘i (taro patch), and a loko i‘a (Hawaiian fishpond).
