Make Sure You’re Receiving NMEA Emails
We want to be sure you don’t miss important updates, opportunities, and events from NMEA. Sometimes email providers mistakenly place our messages in spam, junk, or promotions folders. Here are a few quick steps you can take to ensure NMEA emails land safely in your inbox:
1. Add Us to Your Contacts
Add these common NMEA addresses to your address book:
membership@marine-ed.org
nmea@marine-ed.org
nmea2026@marine-ed.org
2. Mark Us as Safe
Gmail: Go to Settings > Filters and Blocked Addresses > Create a new filter. Enter
@marine-ed.org
in the “From” field and select Never send it to Spam. If our emails show up under Promotions or Updates, drag them into Primaryand click “Yes” when asked.Outlook: Go to Settings > View all Outlook settings > Junk email > Safe senders and domains. Add
@marine-ed.org
or specific NMEA addresses.Apple Mail, Yahoo, and others: Look for options to add us to your Safe Senders list.
3. Rescue Emails From Spam
If an NMEA message ever lands in spam or junk, mark it as Not Spam or Not Junk. This helps train your email provider to trust our messages.
4. Check Regularly
Peek into your spam or promotions folders every so often—just in case.
5. Reply or Engage
Replying to an NMEA email or moving it to your inbox signals to your provider that our messages are wanted.
