We strive to research, verify and share information to NMEA membership and its audiences in order to provide tools to make informed “blue-green” decisions.

The Conservation Committee's primary objective is to provide information to NMEA membership and its audiences. There’s no one way to be “blue-green”, and we are not an advocacy group, however we can give people tools to make informed decisions. The committee will research, verify and share information through NMEA’s web site, NMEA News, Current: The Journal of Marine Education, and other publications.

Whether you are a classroom teacher, informal educator, university professor, scientist, a seasoned veteran or new to NMEA, the act of being a conservation minded individual is important to what the NMEA community stands for. If we want to continue to work together to advance the understanding and protection of our freshwater and marine ecosystems, then we must put conservation at the forefront. I hope that you will consider joining the conservation committee and pledge to help make a difference and share your passion, and that of the NMEA community, inside your classroom, outside the walls of your cubical, and as far as you can dream.
